The three chapters explore three fundamentals in achieving this – the business case for investment, the importance of people and investing and recruiting in talent and finally the technology and systems needed for an agile supply chain.

    • In this first chapter we explore how retailers can make an agile supply chain a competitive advantage. Examining why agility within the supply chain is essential we look at what is driving the change and who is already implementing agility well.

    • In the second chapter we look at recruiting and training as an enabler, highlighting lessons learnt from the likes of Primark and John Lewis. We discuss the image challenges the industry faces and the need to overcome them, along with the shortage in the sector and how investment in your people is vital.

    • In chapter 3, the final part of the agility puzzle explores the importance of investing in the right technology and infrastructure. Here we examine how to make the right choices for now and in the future looking at what technology may be required, the potential for AI and what retailers may need to be considering for the future too.
